I work primarily in watercolor and pen and ink with watercolor, but have begun to expand to acrylics. Many of my paintings have been printed as note cards.
I grew up in Modesto, California. I’ve loved drawing and painting every since I was in grade school. I studied art in high school and college, but my working years were spent wrangling numbers, first as a bank teller than as a data analyst at a food research facility.
Since retiring and moving to Rocklin, I’ve finally had the time to get back to being creative and exploring the world of watercolor, which I am passionate about.
This greater Sacramento area is full of so many creative people, and I’ve been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to take classes and workshops from many of those talented and inspiring artists. This area is also a great source of inspiration with all of the color and beauty of Northern California. There isn’t a day that goes by that something doesn’t make me say “Wow! Look at those colors” or “I’ve got to paint that scene”.
For me there is nothing more joyful than creating a painting that celebrates the color and beauty around us. My ultimate pleasure is when one of my paintings “speaks” to someone.
